Wynberg Boys’ Junior School invites applications for Learnership Positions to be effective January 2026 for registered students working towards a teaching qualification e.g. B.Ed./PGCE.
These positions are aimed at applicants who are able to fully embrace the diverse ethos of Wynberg Boys’ Junior School. The Learnership programme is an opportunity to work towards becoming a teacher through mentorship and practical experience.
Requirements:
Have a Matric certifi cate with a Bachelor’s pass that qualifies him/her to embark on a BEd course at UNISA or has an appropriate University qualification that would enable them to do a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) at UNISA
Display enthusiasm, creativity and have a passion for teaching
Willingness to learn new teaching approaches
Total commitment to the school’s abundant extra-mural and co-curricular activities is a prerequisite
Flexible and collaborative – team player
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good communication with proficiency in English and exceptional interpersonal skills
Competence in technology skills and willingness to learn more in this area
Ability to coach at least one summer and one winter sport
Learnerships will receive a monthly stipend. WBJS will also fund the Learnerships tuition fees and books at UNISA or other approved institutions as well as funding staff development as and when scheduled
