The School Governing Body invites suitably qualified and experienced applicants to apply for the following post starting 01 January 2026.
Interested applicants should meet the following requirements:
A degree or diploma in Education, Childcare, or a related field.
At least 3-5 years of experience in a childcare or aftercare environment.
Proven experience in a supervisory or management role.
SACE registered / equivalent registration with another professional body.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong leadership, outstanding organizational and logistical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
Proficient in planning and implementing aftercare programs and activities.
Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
First aid and CPR certification.
Personal Attributes:
Passionate about working with children and creating a positive, safe environment.
Highly responsible and reliable.
Able to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.
Adaptable and open to feedback.
Additional Requirements:
Police Clearance and Child Protection Clearance Certificate required.
Driver’s license and own transport.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the aftercare program.
Develop and implement engaging and educational activities for the children.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the program.
Manage and support aftercare staff, including scheduling and training.
Communicate effectively with parents and address any concerns.
Maintain accurate records and manage the aftercare budget.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
Preference will be given to candidates who advance our Employment Equity Plan.
