Herschel Girls School is offering a temporary internship opportunity for a recent graduate or post-graduate who is eager to gain valuable experience in a vibrant and forward-thinking school sports environment. There is a stipend attached to this position.
This internship will be suited to an individual with a strong academic foundation and a keen interest in applying sports science knowledge to support their athletic development.
The successful applicant will be suitably qualified with a passion for leadership in her/his field. The following criteria are essential:
A BSc Sport Science Degree or equivalent
Basic understanding of performance testing, conditioning, recovery, and injury prevention
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Strong administrative, organisational, and time-management abilities
A proactive and adaptable attitude with a willingness to learn
Availability for weekly practices, fixtures, and occasional weekend or holiday events
Comfortable working with digital platforms and performance tracking tools
Assisting with fitness assessments and physical conditioning sessions
Monitoring and supporting injury prevention and recovery protocols
Observing and analysing pupil performance during training and matches
Collaborating with coaches and sports staff to optimise training programmes
Supporting data collection, analysis, and reporting related to athlete development
Engaging with pupils in a manner that reflects the School’s values and commitment to holistic education
