Sterilisation Production Operator

Experience:
Appropriate experience in a CSSD setting in a hospital environment.
 
Duties (Key Result Areas/Outputs):
Collect and deliver soiled and clean linen and packs to and from the theatre and wards. Effective application of sterilisation processes and techniques, and promote/adhere to infection control as well as health and safety regulations. Decontaminate, pack and sterilisation of instruments, linen, and supplies. Assist with cleaning and testing of sterilisation equipment, washing machines, and autoclaves. Maintain equipment in an optimum working condition. Cost-effective utilisation of resources, monitor, control, and maintain adequate stock levels. Report and assist with the investigation of lost instruments/equipment. Support to the supervisor and team members.
 
Minimum Educational Qualification:
General Education and Training Certificate (GETC)/Grade 9 (Std 7).
 
Competencies (Knowledge/Skills):
Good interpersonal relations skills. Ability to work in a co-operative way within a team context. Basic literacy, both written and verbally.

Remuneration:
R 102 300 per annum – R 120 507 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer’s contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).

Willingness to work shifts (day and night duty), including weekends and public holidays. Physically fit to lift heavy objects, push heavy trolleys, bend down, and stay on their feet for long hours.
